The French Ministry of the Interior unveiled on Tuesday a new model of a derogatory displacement certificate, an essential document to present in the event of a check in the context of containment measures.

From now on, the time to leave the home must also be specified. As part of the containment measures to stop the coronavirus epidemic, the Interior Ministry unveiled, Tuesday, March 24, a new model of the certificate of derogatory displacement. This essential document must be presented complete, dated, signed and presented to the police during inspections.

Time and space-limited outings

Several innovations on this certificate which replaces the old model. In the end, a line was added. The exact time to leave the home must now be indicated. A clarification related to the statements made by the head of government Édouard Philippe, Monday evening, on the movement of sportsmen, family outings or the walk of pets.

Running sessions are now limited to one-hour maximum, once a day, and within one kilometer around the home.

Two new reasons for exit

This new certificate also shows two other reasons for travel: judicial or administrative summons and missions of general interest requested by an administrative authority.

Like the previous version, this certificate must be presented completed and signed in a paper version (printed or copied by hand). No electronic form is accepted by the police. You must fill in a printed version or copy it by hand for safety and security point.

In the event of non-compliance with the containment measures, the amount of the fine is 135 euros (375 euros in the event of an increase). In the event of recurrence, the penalty is raised to 1,500 euros "within 15 days". Penalty increased to "3,700 euros fine and six months in prison" in the case of "four violations within thirty days".
